Septuagint

The Septuagint is an ancient translation of the Hebrew Bible from Hebrew into Greek, made by Greek speaking Jews in Alexandria in Egypt in the 3rd century BC.  When the New Testament, which was written in Greek, quotes the Scriptures it quotes the Septuagint.
